Viktig - for at RT SP2 skal fungere,   man ha VRay SP5 installert!

VRay RT er CPU basert & har ingen krav foreløpig til grafikkort.

Interactivity
A major feature of V-Ray RT is its ability to track changes to the scene performed by the user and automatically update the ActiveShade preview. The following scene changes are supported:
bulletCreate/delete objects (geometry, lights, cameras, etc.);
bulletModify object parameters;
bulletMove/rotate/scale objects;
bulletApply/remove/edit object modifiers;
bulletHide/unhide objects;
bulletApply materials on objects;
bulletModify material properties like textures, colors etc;
bulletModify light properties (like position, color, etc.)
bulletAnimation of cameras, objects, lights and materials (scrubbing the time slider);
bulletRender settings change;
bulletCamera/view orientation change;
bulletModify camera/view parameters;
bulletEnvironment change (color, texture etc).
Geometry
The following geometric objects are supported by V-Ray RT:
bulletTriangle meshes;
bulletAll other primitives that are convertible to triangle meshes (NURBS surfaces, patches, etc.);
bulletVRayPlane objects.
Materials
The following materials are supported by V-Ray RT
bulletV-Ray materials: VRayMtl, VRayBlendMtl, VRayOverrideMtl, VRayLightMtl and VRay2SidedMtl;
bullet3ds Max materials: Multi/sub-object, Standard, Shellac and Blend;
bulletVRayWrapperMtl material is only partially supported.
Textures
The following textures are supported by V-Ray RT:
bulletBitmap textures: PNG, BMP, TGA, JPG, EXR, HDR, SGI, PIC and TIFF file formats;
bulletProcedural textures: Checker, Noise, Falloff, Speckle, Cellular, Gradient Ramp, Tiles etc;
bulletUtility textures: Output, Normal bump, Mix, Mask, RGB Multiply, RGB Tint etc;
bulletV-Ray textures: VRayColor, VRayCompTex, VRayEdgesTex, VRayHDRI, VRaySky and VRayBmpFilter;
bullet3rd party textures: the ColorCorrect texture is partially supported (the Gamma and Source parameters).
Illumination
The following methods for illumination are supported by V-Ray RT:
bulletIndirect (global) illumination:
bulletProgressive path tracing as global illumination solution.
bulletDirect illumination:
bulletStandard lights: Spot, Omni and Direct;
bulletVRayShadow shadow type for hard and soft shadows;
bulletPhotometric lights;
bulletV-Ray lights: VRayLight (Plane, Sphere and Dome types), VRaySun and VRayIES.
bulletEnvironment illumination and image-based lighting (IBL):
bulletEither through GI or
bulletwith a VRayLight in Dome mode with a texture map.
Shading
The following shading effects are supported by V-Ray RT:

bulletBump and normal mapping;
bulletTransparency;
bulletClear reflections and refractions;
bulletBlurry reflections/refractions:
bulletPhong, Blinn and Ward reflection models;
bulletAnisotropy;

Camera effects
V-Ray RT supports the following camera types and camera effects:

Animation
V-Ray RT supports and reacts to the following animation types:

Render settings from V-Ray Production
V-Ray RT takes some of the render settings from the production V-Ray renderer, if present:
bulletColor mapping;
bulletOverride material;
bulletCamera settings for depth of field (when using perspective views or standard cameras);
bulletEnvironment overrides.
